The VRHC houses the VC/UHV Library's collection of Texana. The Texana collection contains materials focusing on the history of Texas in general and the Victoria area in particular. This collection is intended to serve as a resource for historical research. The collection may include limited genealogy materials that meet the above scope and focus of the collection.

Most items in the collection circulate, although books and other materials that are rare or in fragile condition are kept in a Special Collections area which has restricted use.

All items in the Texana collection are cataloged in the VC/UHV Library Online Catalog.

The VRHC map collection features historical, aerial, and other special maps of the region. All maps have been cataloged and are searchable in the VC/UHV Library Online Catalog. We recommend that you use the search feature "Other searches""Anywhere" and put in the search term "maps" along with a county or city name.
